No offense bud...but slapping isn't the only technique that the bass was invented for, there is a reason people use slap sparingly...some of the stuff is cool, but it does lack structure and would serve no real purpose in a song , IMO

I believe he was asking why do you only use slap in all of your songs. Do you know how to play fingerstyle? Tap? anything other than slap? That what he was saying.

Oh, hm, don't know how you came up with that, lolz. But anyway, yeah I do, i'm not exeptionally good at playing with my fingers, I was for a while, but then got introduced to slap and loved/love it for the past year and a half. But since my fingerstyle isnt all that good, lately i've been working on it a lot more, because I realized that even though I slap really fast, I won't be really successful with just slapping, at all. Rock on, _-soto-_

Well, I personally don't like it that much... the slapping sounds very sloppy, IMO. Not really any feeling or groove in it... JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION

Timing and technique, work on that, how fast you can slap shouldnt matter if you cant do it in time and make it sound right. Other then that keep trying, use moderation as well, dont just zone in on one type of style, learn as much as you can and practice each the same amount. Do so much finger style, so much slap/pop, so much tapping ect. That way you can keep your chops up on all.
I've posted on this thread befor and I'll say it again, keep practicing and keep up the good work, and everything will be all good.
peace

I recommend that you learn some Marcus Miller grooves like "Panther" or "Teen Town". There not too fast (well Teen town is pretty tricky) And they sound great. Like someone said before I think your learning to run before you can walk. Peace
