New recordings - TV theme music

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,

I have just got back from the studio where I have recorded bass for some new music for Sky Sports and TV adverts in general. Please have a listen and let me know what you think.

I use a pair of Vigier 4 strings (fretted/fretless) and a Bacchus Jazz 5.

Cheers
ped

Just to put you out of your misery, Ped, I listened to all of them. Some were maybe a bit cliched, not your playing, but the compositions themselves. Maybe it's because I read what they are intended for, but they sound exactly like that. Maybe a psychosomatic thing, but anyway. I hope this can be taken as a positive criticism rather than negative.

If you don't mind, I downloaded Nos 2 and 7 to play over them, as I really liked the feel of those. If you do mind, I'll send them back to you!

Thanks for the feedback! I completely understand what you are saying, the funny thing is that we all quite like the cliched feel and they should work well in a sports programme type environment.

I look forward to checking out your mixes!

Thanks

I thought they were all quite decent. Maybe the drums could have been mixed a little better, but the playing was tight.

I look forward to seeing Tim Lovejoy do some sort of Rocky Balboa training pastiche over Track 2!!

Hahaha!! Perfect!! Thanks Eddie. I expect to have the mixed versions back soon - these are basically unmixed straight out of the 'puter for me to listen to and give feedback before we start mastering and mixing etc etc.

All the best

I hope you never have to suffer listening to your music over the odious egotistic git, that is Tim Loveself. He'll drown out everything with his annoying laugh. Some people talk just to hear themselves talk, he does the same with laughing.

Sky do other sports too. The Americas Cup is being shown at the moment. Let's hope your music will provide the background to something like this, that deserves it.

I haven't yet done anything with those tracks, Ped. Maybe take out my Les Paul at the weekend and play around. Don't be expecting any recordings though, I'll keep that pain to myself. I wouldn't inflict it on anyone.

Walnut.
