New Roots - Game Theory

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone else checked this out? I'm usually not a Def Jam fan but I've always loved the Roots. Game Theory is way different from the way they've been sounding but wow, what an album! The more aggressive first half is awesome, but what gets me is the slower, but sadder second half. Atonement and Clock with No Hands are stunningly beautiful and honest. Lest I forget the touching J-Dilla tribute . ( BTW if you haven't checked out Donuts....)

Anyone else really dig this album?

My only complaint......I miss Rahzel.

i love this cd with a passion, i like the roots and i really liked the tipping point but after i listened to this once i was hooked. awesome, just awesome.

best parts: when the black thought and the drums come in on the 2nd track, and "weed smokin junky akkaholik/ one foot in the grave, one foot in the toilet"

i don't miss rahzel but i easily could have lived without peedi crack

awesome disc, tipping point was cool be seeing as how it was created in jam sessions only it had that vibe. wich for me kinda limited the replayability cause it was like one long track aside from star. The production was very different on Game Theory, it had to sound big and be big. Hub didnt play a whole lot on it though. I like it a lot and very good single selection. "it dont feel right" is perfect to, if this where a political race, get the swing vote while staying true to them
