New Single from Vernian Process: Steampunk + Circus + Madness

Sign in to disble this ad
My band, San Francisco-based steampunk act Vernian Process, released our new single last week entitled "Something Wicked (That Way Went)". It's based on the Ray Bradbury novel Something Wicked This Way Comes, and is the first of many songs we're preparing for our next album.

As always, I'm rocking the bass on this track. My weapon of choice for this one was a Music Man Stingray.

Here's the song on Bandcamp (but you can also find it on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Zune, and pretty much anywhere else):

VERNIAN PROCESS: Steampunk Music

Thoughts and opinions are welcome! This track is a significant change in direction for us, but still something that is fundamentally "Vernian Processed". We were able to get a hold of real calliope samples to create the calliope melody, which was a genuine treat and truly adds to the carnival/circus atmosphere.

Thanks!

And now I'm off to work on some demented swing numbers, weird west saloon tunes, and who knows what else...

I love it, a lot. Any idea of when you'll be doing some shows on the east coast? I've been wanting to see you guys for some time now. Great playing btw, the whole song just sounds so full and well.. orchestrated, I suppose would be the best way to describe it. All is in it's perfect place.

Very good. Not my cup of tea, but I definitely appreciate what you do. Great production as well, sounds big.
