Nice!

How long does it take you to compose something like that? I suck at composition. I can improvise stuff I like but when it comes down to committing it to paper, I draw a blank.

Hey man,

thanks. well, i had the basic idea for this song like 2 months ago. And im always working on 5-6 solo bass songs at the time. So it took me about 2 months to really have it done. My composition pattern is weird. When I force myself to compose, like OK NOW I HAVE TO FINISH THIS SONG, it never works... it always happens randomly hehe.

!!!!! Wow Dave GrossMan?????? I love your arrangments!!!! i want to go to your show so bad. but i live in montreal. Your so lucky to play with Beaudin and Schmidt. Come to montreal to play, and maybe i can open for you guys??? hehehe. that would by a dream come true

Yeah, that's how what few songs I've written have come together.

Thanks! If you're serious, look into booking us a gig. I'm sure the other guys wouldn't mind a trip up there for a gig if we made enough to cover our expenses. I bet Manring would be into it too. He's used to travel for gigs.

Thank you very much Dave for this gigantic opportunity!

Solo Bass Night 1 was about 240 people. Solo Bass Night II should be about 100-120. That's the Bay Area though. Lots and lots of bassists here.

It's hard to say what the turnout would be in Montreal. Actually, now that I see where Montreal is, it would probably cost too much for us all to fly out there. I didn't realize you guys were so far east. We'd probably have to sell 400 tickets to break even.

I'd love to do it. I rarely get to travel and I think it would be fun to go there for a gig. I just don't think we could sell enough tickets there to cover the travel and accomadations.

You should set up your own Solo Bass Night. One of my hopes was that more people would do this sort of thing. Actually, our Solo Bass Night was not the first to use that name. You can find some others on Google.

I dont know any solo bassists here in Montreal. Id love to plan a show like that. But even when Manring came, not many people knew him. Most of the people went to the show to see Don Ross.

Great job man- really innovate uses of various techniques and very energetic. I very much dig. Wish I could write more solo pieces like that that involved no looping

Oh, you may want to trim out the part where you say "Nice!" at the end
