New Song, recorded and mixed at home

I know the bass is pretty up front, but as I'm the only musician and mixing engineer involved, I get to do what I want and I really dug the tone my rig was getting (not that I think it is TOO loud, but I know it is pushing that boundary)

Argos - 7.8 MB

I may need to revisit mastering this at some point when I have a better calibrated system.

Sounds good, but you already know this - the bass is too loud, lol.

Nice work, Joe. I am going to throw in with you, though. In this example, I don't think the bass is too loud. Maybe by a c-hair. If this was my work, I can't imagine I would have backed off much more than that.

I think that the bass is a nice counterpoint to the two or three "soprano bass" tracks you have going (sweet expressive lead, btw) . If this is the mix you hear in your head, it is the mix you should share with the world.

Thanks guys!

Excellent points Charlie Monroe. You are expressing the thoughts I haven't put into words.

Joe - I dig it. I didn't feel the bass was TOO loud, maybe just a hair down from its current setting but I like it pronounced. Nice groove.
