It's a really ambitious idea....I have a feeling it's either going to kick all kinds of ass or fall flat on it's face.

For the record, I didn't like Vheissu very much.

I'm really pumped for it. I loved Vheissu, so I'm really excited to see where they go next with everything.

Never really got into Thrice, but with a concept like that I'd be happy to give them a shot. Think they'll make a movie about the fifth element?... oh.. wait...

I do like Thrice a lot, but what I do not like and have been seeing a lot as of late, is bands releasing cd's with tons of songs spread over multiple cds. Cds that come to mind on the spot are Stadium Arcadium and now this new Thrice cd. Granted, cd's like this can come out to be great albums, but from what I've seen ini the past... it seems that there are many songs that I just skip over from lack of quality.

I'd like some more quality over quantity instead of radical ideas that end up being a bust.

sounds neat. I wasn't a big fan of Vheissu, though. I loved Illusion of Safety and Artist in the Ambulance, though.

For those too lazy to read:

We have started writing and recording a 4 disc concept record, with each disc being themed sonically and thematically to correspond with the four natural elements - earth, air, water and fire. The final record will have somewhere between 20 and 25 songs, divided between the 4 discs.
I guess that sounds kind of cool.

Sounds interesting, I'll probably check it out. I've been a big Thrice fan since Identity Crisis but I thought there last album was terrible.

Still I'm willing to check this one out.

I'm pretty excited about it. 20 good songs isn't an unrealistic number, so I don't expect it to suffer from too much filler. And they pulled off lots of very poetic, thematic lyrics flawlessly on Vheissu, so I think they should be able to make the concept work.

+1
I think they did a terrific job on Vheissu, and i love their old stuff too. They're music has evolved from a post hardcore, where they just played fast, to a real rock band, with melody. Vheissu was different from the other stuff, but Dustin still wrote in the same way he always has, with meaning and purpose.
This album will be awesome.
ps i wonder if they'll use the illuminati diamond from Angels and Demons for the cover?
