Yeah, so do I.
I mean, that's kind of in a way, why I posted this.

There really can't be another bassist for that project.

There's this 'sound' that Tribal Tech has and Gary is a BIG part of it.
I couldn't see it any other way.

Hmmmmm...& yet he's touring with Berlin & Chambers.

Personally, I would like a return to the "old-school" vibe of Tribal Tech...when they were as much about 'tribal' as they were about 'tech' (blend of electric instruments with sax & mallets/percussion).

Who is the drummer on the date? Andy Sanesi?

Best,

I asked Gary personally, and he said "no way, never". That was awhile ago though. I'd be really suprised if he was part of it.

Was there some sort of tension between him and Henderson that caused the breakup or something? He still plays with Covington, so they obviously get along.

dude lives in spain with his wife. that makes the logistics of tribal tech pretty tough i think i remember gary saying somewhere they werent really interested in doing an album where they were sending parts back and forth to each other and recording their parts at home.

Hey, he flew Covington over to record either Slaughterhouse 3 or Actual Fiction (forgot which one), so it can't be that tough

Henderson is kind of picky. I'd bet that it all hinges on him. I asked Gary once why there are no live recordings of Tribal Tech and he told me "Ask Henderson."

He said that he is way too critical of his playing and that finding live tracks good enough to release would be next to impossible.

I sat and watched them that night and the entire performance was worthy of a live disc.

I'd also like to hear Tribal Tech go back to the Illicit or earlier days of more compositions rather than 'live jams'.

Bumped because I haven't heard squat since July of 2010.

I guess it's not happening?

The new Flecktones album with Howard Levy back in the band & the new Yellowjackets album with William Kennedy back in the band...are killin'!

A couple other new CDs with Scott Kinsey and a Tribel Tech/Weather Report vibe are the band Human Element & Chris Taylor's 'Nocturnal'.
