Newly mastered tracks from our new album

Hey all,

Sorry for tooting my own horn and all that, but I thought some people might be interested in hearing some original songs.
It's instrumental music, probably liked by fans of Mogwai/June of 44/Don Cab/Weights and Measures/etc. We just finished mastering the new album last night, and posted a couple of the tracks on myspace.

I'm also pretty darn happy with how the bass tone came out. The engineer said it was one the best bass tone's he's ever heard

For these songs i used my '74 Rick 4001 into a Avalon U5, straight to tape, my Guild Quantum through an Avatar 2x10 for the dirt, mic'd to tape.

Anyway, enjoy, we're pretty proud of the album and can't wait to tour and get it out to some people

Sounds good. Nice sounding tracks in general. I miss living in Halifax there's such good music scene.

Thanks a lot. For you recording nerds out there, it was recorded to 2" tape, then dumped to the computer and mixed in Logic. There is no panning on the record, every instrument you hear coming from one side or the other is panned in a stereo field via stereo delays. It's an interesting technique to say the least

Original instrumentation was bass, 2 guitars, drums, and moog. There are some guitar overdubs, and most of the extra 'stuff' you hear is Moog overdubs as well as bells from a Nord Electro keyboard.

Thank you for posting the link. I'm very impressed and quite pleased to have listened to these tracks.

Edit: I think I am going to buy this when my situation is a bit more stable.
