Noob recording problem

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, for starters i'm using a Tascam US-122 and Cubase, plug my bass straight to the Tascam

My problem is the software is picking up everything and I mean everything in my feeble attempts at recording.
OK, occasional finger squeeks i can deal with, but picking up my chair squeeks if I move?
At first I thought it might have been from the Lindy's in my MIM fretless, but I get outside noise if I use my Ibanez or my Fender Jaguar.
And no, I do not own or use a microphone either.

Any ideas? maybe some sensitivity slider switch thingy in Cubase?
