Not sure about my tone

I got a rickenbacker 4001.
sometimes at home it sounds like a beast and i love it.

but when it comes to gigs. i always feels like theres too much treble on it.

i bought it used and havent checked if the bass is cutting all the lows with that famous capacitor included by stock with 4001's

dont know if the soundman at the venue "loves that super trebble sound" or i get excited and hit the strings very hard.

heres a video from our last show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_ebG2jlWVg

hope you can take a look a it, and give me some advices

should i remove the capacitor?
should i improve my technique?
should i help the soundman to eq my bass?
or should i keep it that way?

thanks in advance

Crap video, but your tone is ok. Definitely not bad in anyway. Maybe a tad more low-mids. I'm not familiar with the capacitors in Ricks. Technique doesn't seem bad at all. *shrug* I don't see too much wrong with it, but as everyone here will tell you, tone is subjective. Keep rockin'! Nice tune too.

I thought it sounded good too. Sometimes when I hear my bass soloed with the tone I use with the band I think it's too zingy too but with a band it sounds great. If you think it's a little too trebleish then maybe roll your tone knob back a little.

It sounds a little hollow for me. My own tone consists of bumping the highmids and lowmids and cutting my highs on my amp then boosting the bass slightly on my bass. So I think we like somewhat opposite tones...
