A few tunes from a great NYC band..some may know some may not....went to see them at the Jazz Cafe and they were smokin..

This to me is pure Jazz Funk..ok with a latin influence...just awsome...

i used to sit on the beach in Bournemouth very early in the morning and listen to this while the sun came up.. i was in heaven...check out his solo at 3.25.. wonderful..

I love GC! Been listening to them since '96. Seen them live a bunch of times. Always a killer show.

Yep, Jonathan Maron is a killer bassist, I had a blast transcribing a couple of his lines.

I was blown away by Jonathan the one time I saw GC. His groove skills are incredible, and I loved how he uses the full range of the bass, often playing way up the E & A strings for massive tone.

Anyone in NYC this week should go to this show! Jonathan Maron is the real deal on bass and the band he put together is pretty sick!!!

Groove collective is so good. I have been listening since their first album "dance of the drunken master" is one of my favorites of all time. Gonna try to check that show.

Awesome! I can't wait!! I was a GC fan before I knew Jonathan's name. The bass playing was amazing. When I moved to NYC my drummer had played a show with him and I got to meet him. He is now a great friend and one of the nicest people.

Check out Groove Collective "Live and Hard to Find" or "Brooklyn,NY 4/20/02" both great live recordings!!
