Why the 17 years?

Axl is a proven rock songwriter, which is why he should have been putting out new songs over the last __ years. The more one does something, the better one gets, no? The problem with the 17 year gap is that expectations may be high for this record -- too high.

And why are so many artists signing exclusivity deals with one retailer? Is it because that end of the business is dying anyway?

I'm curious to hear the guitar solos, especially Buckethead. My plan is to borrow the CD, record the solos with as little vocal as possible, and just go with that. More enjoyable for me that way, YMMV.
