Zach Hill has a side (?) project with some guys from Hades Kick and one of the founding member's of ATDI called Crime in Choir. They're instrumental music and really really good. They remind me a bit of a mellower King Crimson and Mars Volta.
So, that's another obscure band: Crime in Choir.

-Sleepytime Trio (Back in the day it was called emo, now it's called "%(^* turn that down!")
-Black Cross (southern Hardcore, singer sounds like the guy in Avail, was in By the Grace of God, I think. Worth checking out)
-The Lords[of Louisville](dirty rockcore, with metal leanings)

Maktub - Good soulish stuff, Reggie Watts has a great voice - hes also done some colaborations with Soulive.
Keller Williams - gotta see this guy to really appreciate him I think.
Charlie Hunter - same as Keller, gotta see him.
Robert Randolph - recently had an insurgence of popularity, but these guys been rocking for a good while now. Danyel is an incredible bassist. |
