Odd bands

Does anybody know of any bands that play instruments that you usually don't see together? Such as a bass, violin, vibrophone, flute etc.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum

They make a lot of their instruments. Check them out. The violin player, Carla, also plays a trumpet-violin hybrid. It's basically a narrow violin body with an horn coming out of it. It sounds pretty damn near a trumpet. Plus, they're an amazing group of musicians.

deadweight-loud music on drums, cello and violin.

portishead is great....trip hop with a full orchestra

the arcade fire-indie rock with strings and horns at times...very talking heads and bowie esque
