The OFFICIAL Noise/Experimental Community Thread.

Well, I've never been to any other forum really at TB, the only one ever catching my interest being Recordings, for its awesome collection of experimental artists.

So I'm making this community thread. Doh. Because to understand this insane music you must understand the insanity of the individuals behind it. I choose this location to discuss all forms of nonsensical sounds produced by the inner-core of our left-brains.

Go.

I play my bass because it quiets the clucking chickens in my head.

Peace,

Whoa, how did a swear word get past the filters?

I was just jamming out to some noise I was making yesterday. I was afraid that the cops were gonna come as the neighbors might thing that I was dying or something.

I'm so exprimental. At my last concert i lined up 9 amps and guitars. Set each to max volume and distortion .Then I placed a funnel in my mouth and a large container of beer on the other side. Then I began to simultaneously drink beer and urinate on the guitars and amps. Needless to say the noise was uber experimental. I got all the ladies because I'm ultra hip and experimental.

Dude, you guys suck.

I once recorded the sound crap makes by throwing it against my dog's mid-section and ran it through an envelope filter.

I win.

Ok, top that.

"Vocals" were recorded with a clothpin on my nose.
I played the "guitar" (actually my bass with a Guya TZ-2 and Iby LF-7) solo at the same time.
I added a bit of any pedal I stumbled onto for good measure.

If some of you are into stupid scales and pierce eardrums as a hobby, you may enjoy it. Food for tough.
Others can call 911.

Nope... I went to the butcher with my tape recorder and recorded the sound of chickens getting killed and run that through pig squeals, crazy crazy things

Jeez guys. Take your feelings else where. If all you're going to do is troll a thread and call stuff, that we put feeling and hard work into "crap" then you are just asking for a probation.

Seriously, take it outside.

Ok, so really. Me, now an old man.. Go back to 1975. I'm a kid in college, and for extra credit I get to go to an avant gard "concert". First we see a 20 min film about how this is the music of the future. Then we get to see some dude duct tape a tenor sax mouthpiece onto a bass trombone and squeek and squawk on it for a half hour. True story. I'm hoping the "future" they spoke of is way after I'm gone.

Thanks.
I don't really know where it fits but I'm sorta proud of it, the same way you tend to prefer you less brilliant kid.

I like it as well.

Really cool, the way the nasally voice blends almost seamlessly into the equally fuzzy guitar.

Typical perspective.

The sound itself is not what is significant. That's why it's typically referred to as "art-rock."

another big name in experimental music (not art-rock or noise-rock) is the famous bassist bill laswell...i have a cd called improvised music 1981, where bill and derek bailey and some other big names in experimental sound got together and jammed

its very interesting, they use a lot of prepared instruments, so it doesn't all resemble music as you'd know it, but its top-notch avant-garde

Best use of a clothespin on TB.

I kinda liked it actually.

If you want weirdo nonesense, check out the live concert Zappa did with John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Just what the hell is she doing? That's one crazy doll! I bet Zappa just found it amusing
