The Offspring - Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace

The Offspring haven't made a solid album since Americana, so honestly I wasn't expecting a whole lot when this came out. Especially when I found out Bob Rock was producing it, of all people.

But after a couple of listens, I actually really dig it. It's slightly overproduced, sure, and Josh Freese doesn't go as crazy on drums as you would want him to, but the songwriting is fantastic, the guitars/bass are punchy, and Dexter's voice is great.

It's not amazing, but an overall solid album IMO.

Hmm. This thread reminded me I bought this album when it came out. I don't think I've actually listened to it yet. Maybe I'll grab it for the long drives for work tomorrow.
