It sucked, that's all i can say. I don't think Kirk as a good guitarist anyways.

Yeah... that was pretty bad. I think the best Pink Floyd cover is Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade's CD: Live Frogs Set 2.
It's pretty hard to beat that.

several years back a guitarist friend of mine saw Kirk in the Bay area (SF) at a local jam (I believe they live in the area). He said he could barely do a standard blues solo.

I wouldn't blame that train wreck totally on Kirk... Rob could have at least learned the proper chord progression instead of winging in (terribly) front of thousands of fans...

Kirk was pretty bad though

I'm not saying Kirk isn't entirely to blame (because he is for even attempting it), but you do need to setup a guitar for slide, i'd imagine it would be fairly difficult on a low action metal guitar with jumbo frets and light gauge strings.

And yeah, he's totally lost without his wah pedal.

It looked like mindless teenage jam at the end of a rehearsal.

I dont know what that was.

It didnt sound that bad. I mean you'd expect more from a kind of professional band like Metallica.

The ending did sound a little messy.

I prefer this version

Kirk's playing is like a little box, when he attempts to step outside his little box, he sounds like garbage. But in his defense, Rob butchered it just as bad.

+1

Rob butchered the song before Kirk ever started... then it got worse.

Metallica used to be my favorite band... 15 years ago. Now they are just bad!

that did suck
looked like an improvised impulse jam

but nevertheless, he has more money than he knows what to do with and has sold 100 million albums.
