that is, well, solid. i never really heard the Stanley Clarke influence on Micheal's playing in Miles' band, but "solid" sounds like it could have been a track off of Clarke's self titled disc.

This guy smokes on the Stevie Wonder songs which later became classics..as a matter of fact, they were played for the first time on that London stage...and the rhythm unit was a REAL HIT SQUAD! TAKE A LISTEN...I DARE YOU!!!

A friend of mine has a bootleg of Mike fronting his own group, he even had a bassplayer for when he was soloing for singing. He was doing some crazy strumming chord stuff, way before everybody.

Never got the recognition, had a huge fallingout with Norman Connors about starship, but at least we have youtube and his albums and his motown work.
