Old School Funksters only(A Must Listen)

You would have to be over 50 and be somewhat ethnically diverse to even understand this band.

Old School Funksters will agree that back in the mid 60s this was what funk was about.

Warning! You have to put your "ghetto" on to understand this tune and the bass line.

That's a cool James Brown style groove.

Being a mere 45, I may not know what this is all about, but I know what I likes. Gimme some MO.

Great

Something tells me Tower of Power digs these guys. Bitchin', killer stuff. Funk for days, maybe weeks.

I'm only 31, but I have a soft spot for soul, funk and old R&B as my avatar & username show.

I actually discovered Dyke & the Blazers in college. I was already a Wilson Pickett fan and the local soul station played what I thought was a cover of his "Funky Broadway".

Turns out it was the original - by Dyke & the Blazers.

Good stuff.

To me it's more like Wilson Pickett but it's still cool....

Well, not sure about all the age/ethnicity disclaimers. If you like funk, you like funk (though I suppose there are variants). Dyke... another example of fine Buffalo, NY born funk. Good stuff.
