Just added "Put a Spell on You" by various artists like Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Creedence Clearwater to my main band's repertoire.
I never realized the "darkness" of this song before....I feel almost suicidal after playing it, it is so dark and in hell's basement. When done well, you can hear the self-horror.
Any other songs that just blow you down with their darkness ???

The Marilyn Manson version of that song is pretty evil too.

Listen to it. Aside from dark production, and being about the Powerpuff Girls, this is one dark song. Now, you can laugh right now, but go and listen to it, and you see if I'm not right.
I'm lookin at you Bliss.

The Powerpuff Girls!" That is a dark, mean, scary song.
Then again, I'm an evil monkey with my oversized brain in a glass case mounted to my head.

IMO, the melodies don't evoke such depression and horror, but the lyrics are just like - "Put a gun to your head and say it's over."

Although it's not a "dark" song, I really like the idea behind "Every Breath You Take." Talk about creepy, everyone thinks it's a traditional love song.
