But I agree, the music was what made it. Some awesome bass playing in that score.

| | | I'm a bit old school and grew up in the 8-bit and 16-bit era. For me, the soundtrack to Final Fantasy IV (II in America) will always be a classic. Also, for 8-bit, I always thought that Mega Man 3 had an excellent soundtrack.
I do like the posted music, though!
[forum nazi mode] Shouldn't this be in recordings? [/forum nazi mode]

Assassin's Creed II has the best video game soundtrack I've ever heard. |

| | | | IMO, best game music can be found in either World of Goo, or the Terran music in Starcraft II (Tony Levin played it!). I have listened to both of those game music for musics sake only, and have played along with great enjoyment.

Forum Administrator | | Join Date: Mar 2000 Location: atlanta ga | | heh. a little tangent to the theme of the thread, but the music that's been cropping up for the new tron (after all, it's just a game anyway ) movie (by daft punk) is freaking awesome, along with quite a few of the various remixes.
check these remixes : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMFCs...eature=related
this one is my favorite, i think : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rvtX...eature=related
speaking of deus ex, this one is very reminiscient of the music for that game : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeoEZ...eature=related
now these are all the same daft punk song being remixed by different folks. still, they're all really awesome, i think.

I feel like such a dork for admitting this, but I jam out to the soundtrack from Double Dragon 2: The Revenge. Kazuhiro Hara and Nobuhito Tanahashi did an arranged version of the Nintendo score.
It's friggin awesome!!! Here's a sample of one of the tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvJOqC8xqtg
I found the whole thing and burned it so I can listen to it in the car. Which I do. Frequently.

| | | | The entire track list of Fallout 3. I love it.
If we're talking originals, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion totally wins.

It's like New Vegas. They will never outdo FO3, IMO.

Fallout 3 was a travesty. It was fallout in name only.
Yes, I'm someone that grew up with Interplay and fallout 1 and 2 and even I was initially excited about fallout 3 but after playing it for about 10 hours I put it away to never be touched again.
So many of things that made fallout 1-2 the games they where was simply phoned in or given a quick nod. It's oblivion with guns and robots.
