Opinions about this short fretless line.

I`ve just recorded a little line for our band`s upcoming album
I`d like to know your opinion about tone and phrasing since it`s only the 2nd time I record with a fretless bass.

It sounds good to me. You gave a taste of fretless without going overboard.

I agree w Dr. Cheese. It's really easy to go overboard, but you definitely avoid that.

As far as tone goes, it sounds like a fretless bass, which is good.

Well done.

Are you using any effects?

In this case I think the key is in the bass, not the player.

The bass was plugged direct into my soundcard with no effects. All controls @ full, blend towards the bridge, mids set at 800Hz, played fingerstyle on the neck pickup.
