I think your drummer is absolutely horrible. Other than that, it sounded pretty cool. I liked the harmony created by the guitar and bass parts. They sounded really good together!

But, yeah, ditch the drummer.

i'm sorry, i just don't see what you guys must be seeing. i think our drummer is a great drummer and i wouldn't ditch him for the world.

i mean seriously, he's on beat, creative and locks in a solid beat when he needs to. did you guys even watch the entire vid?

The drummer isn't horrible at all. He drops the beat sometimes but you're right in that he is a creative and locks in the beat. It actually seems like a group issue during transitions the time kinda stands still then picks up again and is a little shaky.

Another thing- If that wasn't a jam I wouldn't be able to listen through the entire song, but that's the funny part, it sounds like different songs. There are so many changes and they all start after the redundent bar or so of a held note/chord.

I do like it though. I picked out the bad, but theres a lot of good in it too.

glad to know that i'm not going crazy.

i agree with you on the transition thing. we've only been a band about 2-3 months and the two songs that were in that vid were the first 2 songs that we wrote as a band. we're still working out the kinks.

i know how you feel about the length of the song. it's not for everybody. we all like having long songs but i can see how listeners might get bored with the length.

i have to believe the "bad drummer" comments are coming from people that didn't watch past the first 30 sec. I have to tell you that i would have agreed with them at that point in the video too. I rather enjoy his drumming for the majority of the video. However, the sound quality of the recording doesn't really do him any favors. It's often difficult to make out what he's playing.

Any plans on adding vocals in the future? There were some points where i was looking for a little something more to keep my interest.

Overall though, I really enjoyed the video.

let's be positive:)

well, I think it is only a matter of time, experience and idea. sound-wise, it is hard to judge since clip's quality isn't the best one, but drummer could research or expand a bit more in terms of his equipments or at least, tone-wise since it is trio.

from my point of view, as long as it is not about the money and other band members are doing what they should do as the 'member' of the band, one shouldn't ditch anyone that easily. it'll take some time to build the chemistry and character for the band and they just have to keep working on it like others.

the drummer loses the beat a few times in the first minute or so. That's what I didn't like about him. He's also kinda simplistic in his playing...

Thanks for the comment! normally there's vocals in a lot of that song, its just that we were recording a live session in a studio and were planning to overdub vocals later.

thanks for your input too!

in our old band, the drummer used a double kick, a 22" ride, a 20" crash, an 18" crash, his hats, a 6" zil bel, a 12" mini china, an 18" regular china and his 4 piece kit.

now, he uses a single kick, a 22" ride, a 21" sweet ride, his hats and just a 3 piece kit. needless to say, he has downsized his equipment considerably by his own choice. he's been trying to take a more minimalist approach to our music this time around and i don't really see what's wrong in that. he's got a gretsch club mini mod which is a pretty rad intermediate drumset and he has evans ec2 coated heads on both his toms and his snare. for a 17 year old without a job, you can't get much better than that.

:)

there's no problem at all with drummer's stuff, it is just my preference getting in the way anyway, I think it is great to record and videotape whether it is actual performances or rehearsals, good luck with your band.
