New Bern, NC. The birthplace of Pepsi. I used to live in Greensboro. Great state. Great music scene around the Triangle area. Going to a wedding at Carolina Beach in May. Can't wait! Wife's Grandfather owns a beach house down on Oak Island, right on the ocean. It's going to be a sweet trip.

I think your recordings sound great. It's deffinetly new age metal and I don't mean that in a bad way. You guys have groove, your tight and your recording is mixed well. Of course, I'm biased and want to hear the bass a little more.

Entriely not my cup of tea BUT very well exectued IMHO. The naturally sung vocals are very good!

i wish i had more control over how the bass was mixed. it took us 3 years and almost 10 grand to get this thing recorded!!! our drummer recorded over 4 different times when the first time was by far the best, i would actually sit in the back seat on the way to the studio while he listened to chimera and slipknot tapping on his steering wheel. by the time he got to the studio he would have changed everything in his head and things that we had all agreed on. i only got one take on each track and a few punch ins. the rest of the time was spent editing drums and changing our parts to fit with his newer parts just for him to go back and change it again. the guy recording us (chad b.) told us we had till dec of last year to finish because he was moving to colorado. our drummer wanted to go back and make last minute changes for the 5th time before he left but we wouldnt let him. he wound up quitting right after chad left because he wasnt happy with his drums and couldnt go back. so now we have my younger bro playing drums, he didnt have time to record so our old dummers tracks are whats on there. anyways, we didnt have time to mix anything while we were there keeping tabs so he took everything to colorado and mixed it the way he wanted it. the bass turned out really low in the mix and had alot of high end in certain parts where it should have had more low end. everybody made me record with my warwick vampire when i thought the thumb with the jazz pickups would have made it sound bigger. what are you going to do though when we rely on democracy in our band, oh well. it wasnt all spent on recording but when you add up gas, food, lodging and recording expenses plus mastering it came to around 10 grand. turned out good for what it is though, thank you for the feedback. god bless, AARON C.

Sounds good! Really nice playing. I'm hearing some System of the Down in there. I'd prefer the bass to be less compressed and more upfront. I also prefer the real singing to the growling stuff, but that's a personal taste thing.

As an aside, I know it's a little after the fact but I think it's insane that a recording should take 2 years and cost 10K these days. I play drums and twice have recorded and entire album in just a couple of days. Guitar and bass and mixing can be done at home on Logic. Go back in to the studio for vox and mastering. Total cost -- about 2K. Just a suggestion for next time.

Best of luck and congrats. Nice work.

most definetly, when we came up that figure we were pretty depressed. we could have recorded 5 albums with that!!! its a wonder were still together as a band though. my guitar player tom has been jamming with ant (old drummer) for about 15 years. i thought for sure when ant left tom would go to but i guess he realised whats been holding him back all this time. tom is a genius when it comes to music, id be lying if i didnt give him credit for writing over half the album. he teaches music/guitar at the community college here and he also gives lessons at the local music store. the next album is almost written, so expect the next album in a year or so.
