The contest coordinator did tell me if they ever come my way, either MSMW or MMW to shoot her an email and she'd put me on the guest list though hehe.
And yes, the record kicks major ass. I like Down the Tube a lot myself |

Jason good to see you here again. I love Wood's solo on the first tune. He sounds great throughout.
Does anyone know if Chris Wood uses his Hofner on the album? I don't have the record at work with me, but there is one tune with a bass intro -- Cachaca? I think Wood wrote the song actually -- and it sounds beautiful. I'm thinking it's the Hofner.

He uses a variety of techniques on the electric: fingerstyle, finger and thumb with a palm mute, pick. . . But last night his solo in "Little Walter Rides Again" was more aggressive than I had seen previously -- similar to his approach on the upright. He snapped the strings with his right hand and did pull-offs with his left. The sound was metallic, almost like old school slap and pop, which combined with the overdriven SVT sounded incredible.
Wood had his sunburst Fender Precision Bass, along with a Hofner Beatles Bass and a Hofner Club Bass which played with a pick on Tequila and Chocolate. His upright had a full-sized upper bout but a smaller lower bout (can't remember the manufacturer, they used to advertise in Bass Player. . .). The electric rig was an SVT with what looked to be an SWR 4x10, and the upright rig was an Ampeg B-15.
