Just got the Oysterhead CD on the way into work, listening to it for the fourth time now. I consider it money well spent. Fans of Les Claypool, Stuart Copeland, Trey Anastasio (sp?) will not be disappointed!!

Ok, I finally got it. I was a little dissapointed actually. The tunes just don't grab me the way Primus, Police, and Phish tunes do. It's good, but I guess I got overly excited and expected too much.

any of you that have it heard the "Flying Frog Brigade" (claypools previous side project)? Is it like this type of music, or what?

As strange as it sounds, I think Oysterhead is a little more "out there". It's quite a bit different than Frogs, actually, just because of the presence of Trey and Stewart. A good cd, in my opinion, but I set my standards too high for this one. I thought it was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread...

It's more like that than Primus, the Police or Phish in any case, though not the same.
