PA / External speaker question

Need some help here from you experts but not sure if this is the correct space. For a church event I need to set up a monitor speaker so the pianist can hear recorded music as she plays. The mixing board is located in the balcony at back of church but there is a mic 3 prong jack panel near the piano. I do not have a PA system but do have a Carvin AG100D amp with a mic jack input. My plan is to plug that amp into an external amp jack located near the piano. I'm not at church so I'm trying to put some gear together before I go tomorrow

Questions:
Are external jack panels typically male or female connections? The cord I have is a male/female mic cord.

Any issues with using the Carvin amp as an external speaker?

Greatly appreciate your input.
