I think that line is so classic that everyone should play it exactly the way JPJ played it on Zep II. Kinda like the way guitarists almost never deviate from Randy Rhoads solos

I don't get it. I think it sounds fine. Are we to believe that the recorded version on Zep II wasn't an improv?

Im pretty sure that I read something from JPJ when he said he improvised all of the Lemon song in the studio. Only one take.
