I did this 'jam' w/ a coworker a few nights ago. Used a drumbeat from a zoom pedal and recorded it all direct into my cheap 4-track I dig the tone I got on bass..

I dig the tone as well!... well, the bass tone. How'd you get it? Let me guess: StingRay with a pick through the SansAmp?

I'm going to say this as politely as possible: you deserve a better guitarist. Some of his note "choices"?

Hehe.. My coworker has played electric guitar for like a week He's a saxophone player starting to learn, so I think he's decent for such a short time. The tone is actually my gibson thunderbird -> sansamp rbi -> split outputs w/ clean going to a randall guitar amp -> signals re-blended at like a 5 to 4 ratio

"Saxamaphone" - Homer Jay Simpson.

Nice - I do roughly the same with my SWR Mini Mo' which has both pre and post-efx outs, and mix them each about 10 degrees off of 12:00. It makes for an ungodly recorded tone, and I absolutely think more people (professional or not) should record with split signals.

Once again, great tone especially considering the "low-fi circumstances"... but not low-fi sound at all!
