What a great cd. I just picked this up on an impulse last night at borders and it cooks. Christian McBride on bass whos obviously great. Ive never heard enough of Martino to judge him before but I love his playing. The heads are great to I love sax doubling any other instrument on melodies. The cd booklet also includes a cool little system of writing that pat uses where each letter of the alphabet is assigned to a letter of the musical alphabet its cool stuff.

Martino lived behind us when we lived in south Philly.
Two of my 1st Jazz albums were Martino's Footprints(also called The Visit) & Consciouness.
I loved that guitar tone he had then...you do know the story of Pat losing his memory & thus had to re-learn how to play, right?

Isn't McBride also with Pat (& ?uestlove & Uri Caine) on The Philadelphia Experiment?

Pat Martino is one of the deepest cats! George Benson will go on and on about how much he digs Martino. Joyus Lake anyone?
