Patitucci - One More Angel

This is not a new recording. But every time I listen to it, it completely floors me. I can't think of a more emotive, evocative, contemplative jazz recording. This album takes me places I have never been every time I hear it.

It's not a chops album. It's an album where every song paints a vivid picture. Every song tells a story. Every song conjures up a series of emotions. Every song, in some way, cries out for the soul of the child Patitucci lost at this time in his life.

I am not sure I have ever heard a more complete work of art. I only wish I had the gift to be able to express myself in the way he did on this album.

I love Patitucci's writing. The highest compliment that I can give to an album with a bassist as leader is that, like this one, you would have no idea that the bassist is the leader without reading the liner notes... just good playing and wonderful writing IMO!

Patitucci's albums like this one are must haves for ANYONE who just loves good music with great writing, arranging and playing. "Sachi's Eyes" is just beautiful beyond belief!
