Yeah Relman, talking of Wals I played a couple on sat, both at The Gallery in London. I played a 5 a few years ago and bought a jazz 4 instead, because of a few issues I had (and the price difference $1000 vs $1600). Since then I was only going to consider a wal if I could have a custom neck profile (either new or aftermarket), but playing some now made me realise the neck was thinner than I thought. I think they might be the way to go in the UK where they are relativly cheap.
