Yes it's phenominal drumming, but it's also some of the most un-grooviest music I've ever heard.

Kick Ass

Pretty kick ass. Wish the guitarist would have playing something more interesting though. Judging by the faces the guitarist was making, he seemed to have his hands full lol. Then again I don't really know. I'm sure he can play some wicked stuff.

If you search for "agren" on YouTube you'll get some more hits on that guy. Especially fun is a version of "The Chicken", from the same TV show as that Thordendal clip.

EDIT: Why don't I just give the link?

Wow I'm very tense after listening to that. The guitarist is using duct tape to mute his high strings.

Leaves a bad taste in my mouth as well as my ears. Telented, yes. interesting, musical, groving, phenomenal (in my opinion), no.

I much prefer me some good bass heavy funk.

and duct tape? What the heck!

Check out Carlock. He's the Bomb! Yet on the new Steely Dan album, clean and simple. I'd LOVE to jam with this cat!

What's wrong with the duct tape, it's no different than Wooten's and many other ER bassists hairtyes.

It may not make you want to dance, but not all music is for dancing.

Neither is classical music. I guess it must suck then?

That was pretty cool. It did feel kind of "empty" though without a bass player. But maybe I'm being biased?

"Soulless" naw, there is a distinct chemistry ( likely rehersed the piece a million times ), but to call it soulless is a bit harsh. Again, music triggers different emotive reponses in us all, so one man's garbage is another man's treasure... Drummer has great skills; I tend to prefer drum solos that the drummer allows us to anticipate... but there's some soul there man.....

My mind is open, I did sufer through the whole thing thank you very much. I kept thinking ok, its going to get better now. It never did. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean it sucks. If you like it, thats cool. Just don't try to tell me my mind isn't open just because I dont like it.

It's wankerrific and the guitar really takes away from it. The plodding, distorted droning just gets real old, real fast. Hell, even the guitarist looks bored.
