Hey all,
I recently bought a MIDI keyboard and decided to start a little musical project. It's called The Phoenix Odyssey.
Anyway, please listen and give me feedback. I appreciate all of your comments. This is just me having fun and whatnot.
The moment I received my keyboard is the moment I started learning how to play the piano. I've never known. So I am a total noobie. So take that into account. lol.
If you're wondering, the song "The Apparition" has some basslines in there. Nothing fancy, but I just wanted it to suite the song. http://www.myspace.com/thephoenixodyssey
Please check it out!

I like it overall, and you have a lot of good spacey bits that I'm extremely partial to, being a science fiction fan and all that.
For something so story-centric, though, the main plot strikes me as a bit of a retread--some albums can get away with this (Deltron 3030 comes to mind) because the way they approach the idea is what sets them apart. With TPO, the story just detracts from the music--I almost think it would be a better idea to ditch the thematic explanation and let the listeners figure it out on their own.
I've got no problems with the music, though. |

I'm partial to the storyline though. I'm actually a chapter into writing a full-length novel about the storyline. |
