Pick one true unorthodox/interesting bassline from the 80's.

As most of us encountered, the 80's produced a lot of fluff pop music amongst the masses. Although, some seriously well crafted basslines made my head turn quite a bit. I would be interested in hearing about what players caught your ears during this era?

If I had to pick one, it would be "One of the Millions" by XTC from the album Oranges and Lemons, which is a brilliant album basswise. The line is very angular and jazzy, but with a funky element to it and the arrangement is built beautifully around the line. As a bonus, it's a song written by the bassist, Colin Moulding.

"Too Shy" by Kajagoogoo. One of the cheesiest songs ever, but Nick Beggs' bass line is awesome.

"What I Am" from Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians has a great bass line.

It's tough to pick just one song, but all the very unorthodox stuff Tony Levin did in the 80's w/his Funk Fingers and Chapman Stick.
