The link is in my sig, feedback of any kind is welcome. Sorry for the corny sounding keyboard drums but they are all I have at the moment plus they are really just compositional ideas not finished products. Thanks! |

I like Oswego Funk.
Have you ever thought about scoring movies/tv shows?

| | | | Hey thanks for the kind comments guys---as far as movie scores go, I've actually never thought about it but it's something I'd jump at doing for sure... I'm nowhere near that level yet I'm afraid.
To matt, thx---yeah I look at music with an open mind and only write when truly inspired to.
I'd love to hear some more feedback from all. |

| | | Hey all, i'm going to just bump this once...I'd love for more feedback(good or bad) but mostly just some constructive comments, helpful hints etc. Like most I'm eager to get opinions from my peers on things I've created...so please humor me a little? |

| | | | It sounds awesome, really. The thing I didn't like is that it is almost just bass all the way. Sounds like a "made by and for bass players". The ideas and melodies are good, but you could arrange them to use more instruments...sound like a band and not like a bass player with loops. Just my opinion. |

| | | I agree totally Gian, thing is I write stuff for instruments that I don't know how to play myself haha. I've written in parts for piano, trumpet etc. but can only emulate it with cheesy keyboard synth. I've written various melodies and such on my bass to be played by other instruments, but as I said this is at a conceptual stage.
i'd like to avoid having songs that only bass players can dig, but until I can find some like-minded people in my area this will probably be the case. Look at songs like Invention No. 2, On one or Oswego funk for an idea how I'll add your standard jazz Instrumentation in retrospectively. Strange Day is the only song I intend on keeping a solo bass song.
Thanks for the time to look and comment. Any one who would like to can add me as well, i love to check out other people's music and have been inspired by many unsigned artists on myspace and youtube etc.
Please keep the comments coming!

Please keep the comments coming! | Yeah, I read your description at yourspace after I posted it. The songs will sound great with a full band. www.myspace.com/gianlive my stuff, only samples though. I do play all the instruments |

| | | | Yes, pluto 5 and Past lives are very cool. i like the retro sounding synth stuff, I'd like to hear the full songs and see where they go. What'd you record that on? The quality sounds pretty good, though the drums are a little quiet in the mix imo. |

I've been getting back to it recently though now that I'm done with school. This is definitely inspiring. A friend of mine who was in my band recently asked me how bass playing solo was, I said not too bad since I've been messing around a bit. You surely show how melodic the bass can be by yourself.

Most people think that the quality sucks. I use the regular soundcard that comes with the mothership, I probably don't capture a lot of superlows and superhighs, but I like it, it sounds like old stuff. |

| | | | Yeah, it fits the retro sound well. i don't think it sucks at all. plus it blows my sound quality away... |

If you are not satified, you can easily fix that with one of those external multichannel soundcard. They are not that expensive. |

| | | | Thx for the encouragement guys, I'm glad that you guys are able to see the potential in some of these songs and is nice to hear for sure. Kickin Fruit, I quit for nearly 4 years and only started playing again when I was 21 about 4 years ago. Never to late to really get back in it. Now I'm just looking to get some steady giggin' and get back on the road! |

strange day is really cool
i think the full instrumentation thing has been addressed- different sounds would add a lot.
there are definitely some good musical ideas there |
