Please help me ident this jazz tune (description only...)

Ok, I know this is very vague, but I gather its pretty much a standard and hopefully a few people here will recognize it, it seems pretty distinctive.

My friend and I were swapping "in the deep end" stories, and he was telling me about a song his bandleader convinced him to solo on at a pretty high-end jam, which he promptly failed to do (guitarists, eh )

Anyway, he described this song to me as "very very fast, and the key changed every two bars" I hope its a fairly distinctive tune, however the title I don't remember, but I know it hinted at the complexity of the tune.

If anyone thinks they might know the tune he meant, please tell me. I would ask him again, but it's the middle of the night here

Thank you very much in advance!

Certainly rings a bell, and seems to fit, thank you both very much!

Feel a bit ashamed to have firstly not heard of what seems to be a standard Coltrane piece and secondly not remember Coltrane as the composer when my friend said it
