It's "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes.
Here's the video on Youtube:

It's the only thing I've ever heard from that band. I guess I'm not that crazy about the song, but I LOVE the bass sound.
Is it just a URB, or maybe an EUB? Or just a fretless bass?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a fretless, that's for sure. It sounds very woody, though. Maybe it could be a hollowbody fretless? I'd say the best bet is an upright bass with a lot of mwah.

Yeah, it does have a very woody sound.
It sounds a bit like Danny Thompson in the Richard Thompson Band, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgXPGJx5pZ4 - which is what made me think it might be a URB.

So if I could ask... How does a URB player get such wah? I had an eminence a few years back and didn't get anything close to that.
Is it all in the hands? The bass?

I messed around with a thinline URB once, and while the setup was crap, I was getting wah like I've never experienced before...
