Plug the bass into the computer...

Is it possible with this to connect the bass into the computer? If so, where in the soundcard do i connect it?

Good, you've completed step one, getting a converter. Use that to plug into the line in. You could use the mic, but it's not recommended. Then use some recording software (Cool Edit Pro, Cakewalk, Etc)...

I use a mic with that and direct it to my amp. I find i get a truer sound.

I agree. But I personally don't have a good mic, or a quiet area... but if I did, I'd do the same.
