So which one do you Rush fans prefer. I will get both eventually, but which one would you get first?

They are both killer but I think the Stage/ Light show in R30 is a bit better as is the mix IMO. Just get both now, its Rush at their best!

I prefer Rio...I think Geddy was having a bad night vocally on R30. However, their best dvd imo is "A show of hands" dvd from 1988. Absolutely stunning, without a doubt the best live dvd I have ever seen!

I think the sound of R30 is better, plus it's anamorphic widescreen and the camerawork is better. Most of the RIR shots of Neil were done with stationary cameras.

I liked Rush in Rio's setlist better. Plus, the crowd was AWESOME, and I htink it really added to the whole show IMO.

man!!! that is a tuff desition.
i own both, and love em both..
but i choose R30 because all the extras, the picks and the audio CD included in the package
and of course. a lot better sound that Rush in Rio (because was raining in rio that night, and sound didnt recorded the while they would like)

Rush in Rio has a slightly better setlist I think, more 'classics', but R30 has a far better sound. And Jerry Stiller's in it.

I say, R30.

I own both as well as all their other concert films.

I'd say R30 for the same reasons as stated by others.

Exit Stage Left & A Show of Hands are also great.

I can't vote since there's no "Just buy both" option. I have both and I can't pick between them. The crowd noise on Rush in Rio can be annoying, but at the same time it really conveys the energy of that show. The sound on R30 is better.

You MUST own both. Just suck it up and buy them at the same time.

A 3 concert set, who could ask for more? They also sell them individually now.

R30 seems a bit stiff to me compared to Rush in Rio, which feels more like you're in the audience. Both are great but I just like RiR better.

I don't know what all these complaints about the sound are, I thought the RiR sounds was better, and there was more energy from the and the crowd. Simply fantastic! As has been said though, both are amazing.

Rush in Rio all the way.
The interaction with the Brazilian crowd is just incredible.
