Popcorn Bass line

How did they make it?
Is it just a synth or is it actually a bassist who made it?
Anyway, what pedals do you think i would need to nail that sound?

By the way, i'ts in my opiniob one of the greatest line i've have ever heard, it totally fits in.

I feel kind of dirty for saying this, but some old video game tunes have some sick bass lines (particularly some C64 tracks.) I really wish I could play them with same the same speed and accuracy and I love that fuzzy sound as well. I really loved them as a child and I still love them now.

I haven't listened to "Popcorn" in ages, I don't recall anything about a cool bass line.
