So, what do you guys think of the "The Incident"? I personally love it, I've listened to it about five times in the past three days.

Oddly I saw them play with Opeth at the house of blues in hollywood and it was a horrible pairing based on the a-hole fans of Opeth that would not stop yelling "OPETH, OPETH" while PorcTree was playing. Pissed me off.

Haven't heard the album yet, but looking forward to it.

Don't have the new album yet, but really looking forward to getting it. PT is one of my top favorite bands. I just saw them last month, 2nd time I've seen them, awesome show!

I like the new album. I saw them a few weeks back with King's X opening. They sounded great.

Seriously, what's up with people like that? If they already know Porcupine Tree and hate them, that's one thing... If not, they should just shut up & listen, they might really like them. The first time I saw PT a band called 3 opened up for them, we've never heard of them, but they put on a killer show! They are a very unique band... They even have a percussionist next to the drummer. We're big fans of them too now.

I'm a huge PT fan, but the new one just doesn't do it for me, unfortunately. The disc-long "epic" title track lacks the cohesiveness that I would prefer and it almost seems like a bunch of studio snippets mixed into one.

I found the new Porcupine Tree really disappointing. I am a huge PT fan, but this album was just uninspired, which is a shame, since they were getting bigger and bigger after In Absentia and Deadwing (which were both amazing albums). Normally a PT album will get an average of about 4.5 stars on my iPod after rating all of the songs. This one barely hits a 2.5, and that is because I am giving it the benefit of the doubt that I will like it better once I hear it a few more times.

It really didn't sound much like a PT album to me, but more of a Steven Wilson experiment. The bass playing was not nearly as inspired as on their other records. The drumming was really good, but not enough to make this a good record.

Idk... I find that The Blind House, I Drive The Hearse, and Bonnie The Cat are 3 of their best works to date.

It's growing on me. One thing for sure is you need to judge it by listening to it straight through. Shuffle play on your I Pod destroys it into meaningless pieces.

Not the best work, but has its moments I love the guitar work in Time Flies, which is almost too Pink Floyd, but does make it very comforting. My favorite song so far (guitar solo).

Heh... I'd never heard any Porcupine Tree albums, really didn't know much about them (other than that Richard Barbieri from Japan was or is their keyboard player...right?) when, back in 2008, a friend dragged me out to see them at the Nokia Theater in NYC.

Worst. Concert. Ever.

I literally fell asleep during their show.

But the one thing I do remember from that PT concert was, the drumming was really good. Like exceptionally unbelievably good. I've since seen Gavin Harrison perform with King Crimson, and watched a bunch of YouTube excerpts from his performance at Modern Drummer's annual shindig, and discovered that he's on Mick Karn's The Tooth Mother album (which I already owned), and I'm thinking he's rapidly working his way up to becoming my favorite drummer. Just a phenomenal combination of skill and inventiveness.

I should probably give Porcupine Tree another chance.
