Post-punk / new-wave demos

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's a couple of demos that my Post-punk/Surf/Sci-Fi/Satirical band has just done.

Radiation!
Sex With Robots
A Million Dollars

I know they are raw - there's more to be done on their development, but what do you think of the ideas and general vibe?

Thanks in advance!

I love it, can hear some B-52s, Wire, Buzzcocks. I think the mix sounds pretty good too, I'd say the guitar might need a more consistent level and get more mics on the drums, some of the cymbals and tom fills sound thinner than the rest of the kit. The bass came through well throughout and sounded good to me.

Wire (early Wire) is one of my favorites, so drawing a comparison there is a compliment coming from me. Kudos.

Thanks DB. Yeah we are working on the finer details of it. We love the B-52s. We had a dude come up to us after a gig once DEMANDING that we get 2 girls in and become a B52s tribute act, LOL. I think its because we do repetitive staccato bass lines and semi-spoken vocals. Buzzcocks - yeah Pete Shelly's a god - so punk, so pop, fabulous.

As for Wire, to my shame, I know their name, but am not familiar with them. With the help of Youtube I am rectifying that deficiency in my appreciation of all things Post-punk.

On the local scene around here we are met with utter indifference, whereas second-rate ACDC sound-alikes go down a storm.

So many thanks for your kind words, it's nice to know someone likes it!
