Post Your Chops

I dont want to post a thread thats been done before, so if this an old idea, stop me before i look like a total idiot. Anyways, I've been on TB for a while and Ive never seen a thread like this. We show pictures of us at gigs, stories and experiences, but one thing I have yet to encounter is a way for us to share our riffs, jams, and miscellaneous clips of our playing with each other. There are many free hosting sites, so why not make a few cuts of you playing some original lines and share the love? If i am not regurgitating an idea thats already been tried, this could be a lot of fun. It doesn't necessarily have to be any particular genre, with or without effects, just post it. Maybe we can inspire each other to practice more.

I think, for the most part, that's what the recordings forum is. Anybody who is in a band, promotes their band, and solo bassists post up here. Cruise the Recordings forum for 2 minutes and you'll find tons of examples of what you are talking about.

Yeah so why not try and consolidate it? If we can all post on one thread and give feedback, it would be cool.

I agree. It would be a great way to share small audio clips of anything we are working on. It can be a simple riff to a full song with lyrics, and anything inbetween. I have several short, not so great bass parts that might be made into something worthwhile with a few helpful suggestions.

I think this type of thread would be helpful to many TBers.

Great suggestion Dragon5363!

Exactly! once i get my tone port working, ill post a few quick riffs. I really hope this doesnt turn into "post a witty jpeg relating to steak or sideburns or kung fu" thread

I've got some chops on my youtube profile, original jams unless stated as "someone's bassline for someone's song"

As a metal detector...

I was a hired gun for a Phoenix based band "Ballistic" that released a CD (in Europe) in 2003 on Metal Blade Records. Below is a link to one of the selections off the CD - title track - 'Gone Ballistic'. They allowed me to improvise a solo break in the studio for this one. The exact words were "Go Ballistic"
