Prince - Planet Earth

I just picked this record up. I"m really digging the grooves and jams on this record. GREAT bassline on Chelsea Rodgers, great disco thing going there. Prince does a great job on a couple of ballads too.

Thoughts?

Not a great follow up to 3121! There are some really good songs on Planet Earth but I thought he was going to stay in 'funk' mode for this one. This is totally opposite of 3121, IMO!!

i didn't consider 3121 a funk album. I consider Musicology a Funk album, and i think Planet Earth sounds more like that. I didn't like 3121.

I shoulda described 3121 as more a more high energy album. Not 'funk' per se but there were some funky moments on it!

Get on the boat...................

I really liked 3121; listened to some clips from the Planet Earth on iTunes, decided not to get it.
