Problem with line out - Logic

hey guys, so i have a Ampeg ba115 bass combo, it has a line out that uses xlr, it can be used to go to the front of house or recordings.

i have a MacBook Pro and i am using logic to trying and record into, i use a apogee One audio interface, on my amp it has the male side and on the interface it has a female side so i use a xlr cable to plug it in.

my problem is when i connect it all up, there is just a noise thats registering on logic, no bass is actually picked up.

i have tested the line out on my amp with a pa, this works fine so it should rule out any problems with my amp. I have also recored vocals with the xlr input on the interface with the same same cable as i use to plug into the line out of the bass, as the line out on the bass has a male end like the inside of a mic.

I talked to some guy in a shop he said it could be because of a dogie power supply and to try it with no charger plugged in put that doesn't work, bit confused why i can't get it to work because in theory everything should be fine!

Is the Apogee One showing any input level? Plug your bass into the instrument input & see if you have signal.

yeah the apogee one works for everything else other than the line out on my amp. it only shows the noise from (were every its coming from!) witch lights up the first two lights on the interface. when i play the bass the lights do not move.
