Problem with recording equipment

Sign in to disble this ad
So I bought a Line6 POD studio GX.

I can't seem to record a single sound clip without extreme lag crunching the sound.

What I mean:

Let's say I record 10 seconds of sound. The sound played between the 6th and 7th second will be crunched together into one big ugly BLLARRRRPP noise.

I tried with a guitar and a bass. I tried playing with the buffer length. I tried with Live Lite, Audacity and Windows sound recorder. (I have Windows 7)

Nothing seems to work proprely. I can't record more than 5 seconds at a time without the buffer going nuts and barfing up noise in my recording.

well, that seems acceptable. 2 gigs of ram isnt exactly primo, but it should be getting the job done nonetheless. This kind of stuff is a real heel to diagnose the problem. Start changing out things one at a time. Make sure your computer has the input set as its default. Im not super failure with the line 6 dibs, but i bet its something to do with their software. you probably have to change one of the settings or something like that. or maybe in audacity. If i were you, i would call line 6 customer support, or find somebody who has the same interface as you. Sorry I cant be more help, its just really hard to figure this stuff out because there are so many different things that need to be tried in order to fix it.
