Raayl-Dark/industrial trip hop. All bass compositions w/ rap. (I return all comments)

Tell me what you think, if it made you feel anything-etc. I strongly encourage you to follow along lyrically, as the real effect of my songs is the message and "story" they contain. Every song spits some sort of twisted, dark tale against my all bass compositions. (I get really experimental with melodies and effects. It's very layered, and all bass.)

Also, if you have anything of yours you'd like me to take a look at, I'd be more than happy to do so. Just post a link.

All bass? What's your setup? That's crazy.

One thing I will say, you no longer remind me of The Jesus Lizard at all. These songs are completely different (well, not COMPLETELY) than your earlier stuff. I like the ambient surroundings. The vocals are almost TOO Mike Patton though, if I just randomly heard this, I'd assume it a Mike Patton side project, he's got like 400, so why not? Good production, but I think the vocals could be crisper in the mix, but that's just my opinion.

I don't know much about Trip Hop, not a genre I've looked into much, but I think the beats could be a bit more interesting. The music is great, but I think the beats are the weakest part. But maybe you're not trying to have attention devoted to the drums, but that's what I always gravitate to.

I dig all the artwork too, yours?

Eh, I can't help who I sould like-but I'm fairly certain Mike Patton has never touched on the genre I'm currently writing for. Also, none of his lyrics really make sense or really "say anything." It's about the sound, not the words for him.

With me, I put alot more emphasis on the concept and on what is actually being said. The beats are simple r and b electronic grooves to give the songs a bit of contemporary bounce, and nothing else. The music is simple and tastefully minimalist simply to create the mood for the story and the concept.

thanks for the feedback

and as for my sound changing...yeah, I evolved. It's something I've done every album...I go through changes, through different stages. I like where I am now, though. Maybe I'll stick around

Also-check out the cover of "Sunglasses at Night" (an 80's pop song) that I just put up if you want to feel dirty and violated.

It reminds me of Peeping Tom a bit.

that's cool, I like peeping tom. But I don't sit around wasting time with figuring out who I "sound" like. I record and write whatever comes out, worry about what it sounds like. Not who it sounds like.

Although thanks for the comparison, I take it as a compliment.
