Radio head "High & Dry" bass tone?

Sign in to disble this ad
That Radiohead song...
"on't leave me hiiiiiigh...don't leave me dryyyyy!"
the bassist has a real nice thick, sustainy tone..
nothing earth shattering, but just nice,

wondering if anyone knows what he may have used during "The Bends" sessions..?

any Radiohead freaks out there know what kinda gear he used?
I'm guessing a P bass or jazz, passive, with the tone rolled back,

Yeah, the MM is the other bass he's been known to use.

In 'The Bend' days, Colin was using a Music Man Sterling. I know he has played Stingrays before, but very rarely, if at all in the live context. Since he's been playing P-Basses. Primarily a sunburst '77 (with a black pickguard and a RW Fretboard), and a faded white '72 (also with a black pickguard, and this with a Maple fretboard).

To my knowledge, he's always recorded with a mic'd B-15. Live in those days was a GK 800RB, with a 400RB as a backup, but lately he's moved to using Ampeg SVT-VR's for the live stuff.
